I'm Saga (pictured center)

I'm an author, journalist, and editor with a passion for relationships, creativity, and embodiment.

Originally from Oregon, I earned a B.A. in Creative Writing from Oberlin College, then lived in Portland, Oregon for two years before traveling the world as a digital nomad between 2013-2018. While visiting Europe one summer, I fell in love with Berlin and, only intending to visit for six months, ended up staying six years. Along the way, I earned a postgraduate degree in the psychology and neuroscience of mental health from King’s College London and used interoception (mind-body connection) and community to heal my own mental health challenges.

I’ve served as managing editor for InformED, a digital magazine connecting teachers and students with educational psychology research; staff writer and editor for the MIND European Foundation for Psychedelic Science; and associate editor, editorial assistant, and editorial intern for Night Owls Press, Dancing Moon Press, and Tin House Books, respectively.

Interviews about my work can be found on Psychedelics Today, the Rose Woman Podcast, and Inner Sense Channel.

House Sitting

Since 2013, I have been a professional house and pet sitter. My 50+ assignments have taken me around the globe, from Turkey to France to Japan. The type of house sitting I do is part of the sharing economy, where pets receive free care and sitters stay for free. The length of my stays has ranged from five days to five months, with the occasional full year of consecutive sits. It's a brilliant way to travel and live sustainably, and especially useful for pet owners who travel for several months out of the year. I am now a consultant for home and pet owners interested in finding sitters, and for artists and creatives interested in sitting.
